Can I add motorized shades to a home I already live in?
Yes. Battery-powered Lutron Triathlon shades install in finished rooms without opening walls or running new wire to the window. We measure each window, fit the shade, and program it to your keypads and app.
Should I choose battery-powered or wired shades?
Battery-powered Triathlon shades are the easy choice for homes that are already built. Wired Triathlon shades suit new construction and major remodels, where low-voltage wire can be run to the window before drywall. Both control the same way and look the same on the wall.
Do I need to replace my existing shades?
Triathlon comes as a complete shade made to fit each window, so existing manual shades are typically replaced. We confirm this window by window during the design visit.
Which fabric should I choose?
It depends on the room. Solar fabrics cut glare and heat while keeping the view, blackout fabrics suit bedrooms and media rooms, and dual shades put both in one window. We bring samples so you can see them in your own light.
Can my shades work with my lighting, keypads, and voice control?
Yes. Shades can join lighting scenes, so one button can dim the lights and close the shades for movie night. They can run on a schedule, follow the sun, and respond to voice control when you add Josh.ai.
How much do motorized shades cost?
It depends on the number of windows, their size, the fabric, and whether the shades are battery-powered or wired. We list every window in a written proposal so you can see the cost room by room. Consultations are always free.
